Automated Shade was started in 1999 by Juergen Borchert. With a focus on serving the many designers and architects of Toronto, Canada, Automated Shade continues to be a growing force in providing top-of-the-line products.

Originally Automated Shade's primary product line included designer roller shade fabrics and drapery hardware. Over the years, new leading edge products, such as security roll shutters, Ultra Quiet motorized drapery and home lighting control, continue to expand the company into a forerunner of natural and artificial light control.
